Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin have been working with Californian film-makers Stu Maddux and Joe Applebaum over the past couple of years, supporting them in the making of their new documentary film, All The Lonely People.
The film explores the ‘epidemic of loneliness’ and was filmed all over the world – including a significant portion right here in Shropshire. A number of our services, volunteers and clients are featured in the film. To have had the opportunity to work with prestigious film-makers as part of an international, feature-length film has been a real thrill.
I’m delighted to tell you that the film is now ready for release and the British premiere will be held here in Shrewsbury on Sunday 18th September at the Old Market Hall Cinema. Age UK STW will be hosting the event and inviting a range of staff, volunteers, clients, partner organisations, friends and supporters to attend what should be a really lovely occasion.
We will be starting at 6pm with drinks, followed by the screening of the film at 7pm and ending with a Q&A session with the film-makers. The event will close around 8.45pm.
