To celebrate and showcase the work by over 1,300 pupils aged 9-11 from 32 primary schools across Shropshire during the Big Book Award 2024 project and also of course to reveal the winning author from the shortlist of six books. All six authors plus Shropshire Bookfest patrons, Piers Torday and Martin Brown, will be on stage as part of the event.
Shropshire Bookfest, Queen's Award recipient, is a small, flexible, pioneering local charity that prides itself on the development and delivery of high quality, creative, classroom-based activities for primary school children across the county. It has also developed a national reputation for excellence and innovation with authors, education leaders and the media.
It aims to inspire, enthuse and entertain as many children who attend Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin primary schools as possible, through literature and the arts, and help them develop a love of reading and writing.
