I am writing to extend a warm invitation from the CultureKind Chinese Community to join us for the Dragon Boat Festival at Chapel Community Centre, Cross Houses, Shrewsbury SY5 6JG, on Saturday, 8th June, from 1 to 5 pm. It would be a great honor for us if you could come to open the event.
While we have been invited to perform in Shrewsbury many times, this marks our very first opportunity to host a Chinese festival in Shrewsbury. The town has never experienced a Chinese cultural festival before. Thankfully, Vibrant Shropshire has generously provided us with a grant to make this historic occasion possible. Following this event, we will host a summer festival in Oswestry in August, where we will continue to showcase our rich cultural heritage to the rural area.
We plan to host various fun activities, including draon dance, martical arts performances, sticky rice dumpling making and tasting, and art and craft. It will be a lively and enjoyable event, bringing an unforgettable experience to the local community.
