Mayor of Shrewsbury's Big Town Walks Easter Fundraising Events
The Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Julian Dean, is inviting residents to join him over the Easter weekend as part of his Big Town Walks fundraising initiative.
The Mayor is promoting a variety of walks in different locations around the town between April 15 and 18 to help raise funds for his Mayoral charity, the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
Councillor Dean said: “I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to getting these walks organised and for those people who will be volunteering as guides on the different days. We have a variety of routes to cater for all abilities, with guides to provide additional details to enhance people’s knowledge of the area.
“It’s a great way to find out more information about our local area and we’re hoping for good weather over the Easter weekend, although I’m sure that everyone coming along will have a great time no matter what the English weather can throw at us.
“All funds raised will be going towards my chosen charity for my Mayoral year, and I hope that as many people come along over the course of the weekend to help support the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.”
Information on the walks, suitability for people and tickets can be found on the Lingen Davies website at: https://www.lingendavies.co.uk/product-category/bigtownwalks/
