The Coracle World Championships 2024 is being held on the afternoon of Friday 13 September at the Pengwern Boat Club, Shrewsbury. It is a event where teams race in relays across the River Severn in coracles in the quest to become the World Champions. The event has been taking place since 2007 and is organised in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support in Shropshire. To date the event has raised over £380K for Macmillan. We would very much like to invite the Mayor to the event this year. The event takes place between 12 Noon and 6pm, timings for the Mayor attendance could be flexible however, would be nice to be present to start the races at 2pm.
