Handel's "Messiah" is one of the most well-loved pieces of classical music and is performed every year in Shrewsbury Abbey by Shrewsbury School Community Choir with a chamber orchestra. For many people, going to a "Messiah" concert truly marks the start of Christmas.
It will be conducted by Richard Robbins, Head of Choral Music at Shrewsbury School. The chamber orchestra is Noxwode, an acclaimed Baroque ensemble led by Conor Gricmanis, whose home is in rural Shropshire.
