Following the issuing of revised Government Guidelines in light of the November 5 Lockdown, Shrewsbury Town Council will proceed in hosting a revised socially-distanced Act of Remembrance from 10.45am on Sunday November 8 2020 in the Quarry.

A new business sponsor has been unveiled at two prime sites in the town in support of Shrewsbury in Bloom.

Victoria Avenue got a whole lot lighter following the installation of 21 solar lights along the 1km stretch of river from Kingsland Bridge to Greyfriars Bridge. 

This Sunday sees Shrewsbury commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Whilst more places in Shrewsbury are starting to open up, Shrewsbury Town Council has confirmed that all its planned events in the Quarry have been cancelled for the rest of this year.

A new sponsor has been unveiled at a prime site in the town as part of Shrewsbury in Bloom’s scheme to maintain its reputation as the “Town of Flowers”.

Shrewsbury Town Council’s summer bedding planting programme around the town was completed last month, with the floral features providing a warm welcome to visitors to the town centre.

Fire crews in Shrewsbury were called out to rescue a teenage girl trapped at one of Shrewsbury Town Council’s play areas last week.

Following a motion unanimously agreed by Shrewsbury Town Council on 18 May 2020, an independent investigation has commenced into the sale of land on Greenfields Recreation Ground in 2017.

As Shrewsbury starts to emerge from the Coronavirus partial lockdown, the Town Council has begun to open up more of its facilities. 

Shrewsbury Town Council has pledged to back local businesses in light of the ongoing economic crisis. 

With the lifting of some of the Coronavirus restrictions from June 1, the Government has given the go-ahead for a range of activities to recommence.
