The Shrewsbury in Bloom Committee is inviting members of the public to nominate their green-fingered neighbours for this year’s Town of Flowers competition.

A new sponsor has been unveiled at a prime site in the town as part of Shrewsbury in Bloom’s scheme to maintain its reputation as the “Town of Flowers”.

Generous gardeners attending the Shrewsbury in Bloom Greenhouse Open Evening at the end of last month helped to raise a fantastic £315.00 for the Lingen Davies Ruby Appeal.

Shops and businesses in Shrewsbury can help play their part in ensuring the town’s reputation as “the Town of Flowers” is maintained by displaying hanging baskets prepared by Shrewsbury Town Council.

The new Mayor of Shrewsbury has been elected for the coming year.

In a sign that the summer season is almost here, Shrewsbury Town Council has been working towards re-opening the award-winning Quarry Splash Park in time for the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Shrewsbury residents are invited to attend this year’s Annual Town Meeting, which will be held next week.

The Mayor of Shrewsbury is hosting a charity dinner in Frankwell in aid of Little Rascals Foundation and is encouraging people to come along and support his nominated charity.

As we approach Spring and start to think about our gardens and allotments, the Shrewsbury in Bloom Committee is inviting the town’s gardening enthusiasts to join them for the annual behind the scenes tour of the Town Council’s greenhouse.

The unsung community heroes of Shrewsbury have been officially recognised by the Mayor for playing their part in helping to make the town a special place to live, work and visit.

The former Grange Youth Centre off Mount Pleasant Road has undergone a transformation over the last twelve months and is now ready to welcome the community when Shrewsbury Town Council and Young Shrewsbury host a relaunch event this Sunday.
