Tree Rehoming Project - out of stock
The ‘unwanted’ tree scheme has proved such a great success that it is out of stock and has no more trees to giveaway. The initiative run by Shrewsbury Town Council and Shropshire Council allowed people with ‘unwanted’ trees to donate them to our Weeping Cross nursery, where they were tended and cared for before being given away under the Trees Outside of Woodland project. The nursery gave away 370 trees on the first collection day and a further 80 trees had already been given away previously. We are sorry to disappoint people who had planned to come along on Saturday 27th and next Tuesday 30th, but we are also delighted the initiative has been such a success. New dates in February will be announced shortly for people to drop off their unwanted trees to be recycled next year. The scheme is run by Shrewsbury Town Council and Shropshire Council using Defra funding secured by Shropshire Council.
